Style Highlights: Alexa Chung

I feel that lately I've been starting off each post with an apology. And for that I'm sorry. I posted about Dakota Fanning the day before yesterday and I wrote this post at the same time that I wrote that one because I knew that I was going to be SO busy today and I honestly wouldn't have time. I need to stop aologizing and just blog. :) Next week will be better but I think I said that last week.

Alexa chose to wear a simple trench over and blue and white plaid mini-dress. Her up-do and super chic Valentino shoes keep the her from looking like she is dressed up as Dorothy, from The Wizard of Oz. She's a beautiful girl who looks young and fresh.

This is what rocker chic looks like! Alexa hits the nail on the head again. :) Her simple grey sweater is perfect for the cold days ahead but it becomes instantly chic when paired with a sleek leather mini-skirt. Her legs might be a little chilly but fashion knows no pain. Or at least that's what they say. Her leopard print purse is the perfect accesory. It is fun--without being over-the-top.

Alexa Chung in Chanel [left] and a peach button-down with black tousers [right].

Alexa always look great in Chanel. This blocking pattern exposes a bit more skin than Alexa is used to showing. The blue compliments her skintone wonderfully. Doesn't she look like she's glowing? Maybe it has to do with the fact that she's at a Chanel fashion show. Her soft, whispy locks frame her face to perfection. Lovely. :)

Aha! Alexa still looks fabulous in pants. This simple peach top, tied around the waist to accentuate it, is laid-back and simple. Alexa knows that less is more in the fashion world--not including fabric, that is.

Alexa in Burberry Prorsum [left] and Chanel [right].

Burberry! Oh, I'm in love. Burberry is one of the most iconic brands in the world. And Christoper Bailey has managed to maintain Burberry's classic reputation while creating a brand that is edgy and fashion-forward. The military green color is super popular at the moment but what really stands out is that cross-the-shoulder purse. Perfect to stow away makeup, cellphones, and other neccesities.

Another Chanel look and Alexa still looks gorgeous. Her black tights and black shoes enlongate her legs. Plus black is very flattering. She takes this classic frock and makes it her own by adding a funky skull necklace and heart shaped pin--featuring John Lennon and Yoko Ono. She doesn't take fashion too seriously. I admire that. :)

Red Carpet Style: Dakota Fanning

The recent star of The Runaways, a movie about the band of the same name, is no longer the little girl from Uptown Girls and Charlotte's Web. I was surprised  to discover that this girl has style. I didn't know until she started promoting New Moon.

She was on the cover of Teen Vogue and it was stunning. I did a post about it earlier. Please, go check it out. But without further ado, a look at Ms. Fanning's impecible style. Enjoy!

Dakota fanning shining in short, but sweet dress from Valentino [left] and Elie Saab [right].

The sparkle details on the shoulders and the sheer neckalce show off skin without becoming too vulgur. Balance and proportion are key with girls that young. I applaude Dakota for not dressing to shock people by showing as much skin as possible. But shes makes people notice with her impecible sense of style. Not very many people can make Haute Couture fit into main-stream. I also love her makeup. She looks fresh and rosy-cheeked.

Then there's that nude colored Elie Saab look that is to die for. Hello? The embrodiered cocktail dress is effortless and light. She looks confident put together and any girl, worth her weight in Chanel clothes, would want that dress. She has this ability to sell products. Her Brian Atwoods are pretty amazing too.

Dakota in Emilio Pucci [left] and Valentino [right].

While Dakota's other two looks were soft and utterly femine. She also looks equally beautiful in these more structured looks. In that leather Valentino look she looks equal parts soft and tough. My favorite type of look. The neutral colors make her blue eyes pop and I'm obsessed with her black statement ring.

Then she pairs her ivory studded/embrodered dress with the perfect accesory. Yes. Of course I mean her platform purple Brian Atwood pumps. They're the perfect pop of color and I will always be a fan of purple Atwoods. :) Always. I just need to get myself a pair. And soon.

Doesn't she look absolutely stunning. I'm a little envious of her shiny, blonde hair. So pretty. :) I'm excited to see what the future has in store for this talented actress. I really wanted to see The Runaways but I just never got around to it. If you saw it what did you think?

Style Highlights: Elle Fanning

Elle Fanning is in the new-ish movie, Somewhere. I haven't seen it but the trailer is divine. Link here. But not only is the little sister of Dakota Fanning get rave reviews for her acting. But she's also taking the fashion world by storm. This budding fashionista seems to be everywhere. And from her pictures it isn't hard to tell why.

Elle Fanning in Marchesa [left]. Elle Fanning in a layered plaid dress paired with lace stockings and Doc Martins [right].

Elle looks angelic in this simple, yet sweet, dress from the lovely ladies at Marchesa. Her simple hair and lack of jewelry help highlight the beauty and intricate detailing of the dress. The little flare at the hemline seems like a insignificant detail but it holds a big impact. A simple pair of black mary-janes complete the look.

This look is in the total opposite end of the spectrum. But she still looks fabulous. The chaotic mix of ruffles, layers, and plaid may have looked overwhelming on another lady but Elle pulls off this look with a sweet smile and bold confidence. The maroon lace stockings are an unexpected, yet perfectly fitting, accessory. As are the brown and busted Doc Martins.

Elle Fanning in a structured black mini with a big bow detail [left] and Valentino [right].

Elle looks elegant in this structured black gown. The color contrasts beautifully against her pale skin. The bow detail from her dress is mimicked on her printed flats. The milkmaid braid on the top of her head is lovely in its simplicity. Again, Elle keeps the look young and fresh with no jewelry.

This Valentino dress is genius. The way the colors, prints, and textures work together keeps the eye interested and intrigued. Elle pulls her hair back as to not overwhelm the eye-catching patterns and prints of the dress. She also wears no jewelry and keeps her heels a simple nude to keep the attention on the gown and not the unnecessary accessories. Elle looks truly stunning.

Victoria Beckham in Elle Magazine

There is just something about British style that is so completely different compared to American style. Victoria Beckham is a style icon. She takes risks--most of which that pay off. And she doesn't let main stream media stop her from wearing what she wants to. I adore her fashion and Victoria Beckham Collection.

Victoria was interviewed for Elle Magazine last year. She looked so pretty that I knew that I would have to feature it in one of my posts. And its finally time. The styling was done by Joe Zee--an amazing man! I hope you enjoy!

"When people say...'Poor you, it must've been really difficult'--poor me? I live in Beverly Hills. I'm very, very lucky. I wake up every morning and reconize I'm blessed." Beckham in a Dior Haute Couture jacket [left] and Diour Haute Couture veil [right].

"You know, I love America. It's such a positive country." Backham in Diane von Furstenberg swim suit paired with Nina Ricci platforms shoes [left] and Valentino gown [right].

Beckham describes herself as the "squarest woman in Beverly Hills" who goes "to a normal movie theater" with her friends to screen, The Hangover. Bekcham in a Stella McCartney jumpsuit and Giorgio Armani Prive pumps [left].  Beckham in Dolce and Gabbana underwear [right].

Eva Mendes, Backham's friend, described her as "the sexiest, most stylish mother in the world." Beckham in a Roberto Cavalli printed silk-gown [left] and Melange cashmere dress paired with a Stephen Jones for Giles leather hat [right].

If you have any celebrity's closet, who would it be? My answer would have to be either Victoria Beckham or Keira Knightley, British version. American version would be Anne Hathaway or Blake Lively. But my answers seem to be constantly changing. Who would you pick? Comment below!!

Olivia Palermo + Valentino Clutch

Most of us know Olivia Palermo from her stint on The City. She wasn't exactly...the nicest girl at Elle Magazine or DVF but there is no doubt that this woman has style. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

Olivia Palermo at the Make Up For Ever launch at Sephora wearing Valentino Rose Sequin Clutch, Top Shop Shrug, Emilio De La Moreno Top and Skirt, Black Bow Booties, and Blue Studded Belt.

Olivia Palermo at a Mango Fashion & Music Night wearing Valentino Rose Sequin Clutch, Jimmy Choo Lace-Up Sandals, Mango Pleated Dress, and an ASOS Ring.

Olivia Palermo at Paris Fashion Week wearing a Valentino Rose Sequin Clutch, Besoni Leopard Print Dress, Valentino Lace Rose Heels, and a Vintage Leopard Belt.

She always looks stunning. On a completely random note I'm just catching up on my politics and humor while watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I find him hilarious and informative at the same time. What do you watch to get your information. Oprah? The View? Ellen? Comment below!

Red Carpet Style: Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway in Valentino [left] and a fitted blazer over navy blue top [right].

The Valentino gown. The Valentino gown. Sigh. That dress is the perfect princess dress. I would not change a thing. Anne has played many princesses in her time but she's never looked more the part, than right here. The loose hair is fun and young but because it is pushed behind her shoulders, all the attention is on how beautiful that gown is. A stunning red carpet moment.

I picked two extremes. Ultimate glamour and totally casual. The navy blazer fits her in all the places it should. That is the mark of a great tailor. She is walking somewhere witha  purpose and she looks amazing. Those flats are the perfect mix of comfort and fashion--not exactly the easiest thing to do.

Anne Hathaway in Marchesa [left] and in J Brand [right].

Marchesa. The brand for glamour, fun, and beautiful details. Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are masters of making gowns that make an impact on camera and in real life. They know how to make a woman look and feel sexy. That blue color is so vibrant and is such a great contrast with her bold, red lipstick. Brava Anne! :)

Next, another casual look. On some level I like casual looks better than red carpet looks. They give me ideas about what I want to put in my own closet, although don't get me wrong--I love the fantasy of the red carpet. But that's all it is fantasy. Most woman will never get the chance to wear a Marchesa gown to a movie premiere but we can always hope, can't we? In this look Anne is sleek, modern and totally put together.

I don't think I mentioned this earlier but Jake Gyllenhaal  is her co-star in Love and Other Drugs. Click here to check out the trailer. On another more somber note, I'd like to thank all those who have or are serving in the armed forces. Your sacrafice is appreciated. And thank you to all the families of those serving in the armed forces. I hope you have a nice Veteran's Day.

Style Highlights: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

I recently did a blog post about Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's street style. And that got me thinking. What is her style like on the red carpet? I was not surprised to discover that Rosie is able to rock the red carpet just as well as the runway or the sidewalk.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry Prorsum [left] and a champagne, ruffled, floor length gown [right].
I'm normally not a fan of pink but I think this Burberry Prorsum gown was simply stunning. Although, Rosie is showing A LOT of skin. I don't think that it looks inappropriate or cheap. The decision to sweep all her hair to one side was brilliant. It is so reminiscent of Old Hollywood. Her shoes are delicate and allow her show-stopping dress to take center stage.

Although I'm not one-hundred percent certain what brand Rosie is wearing here, I have a feeling that it is also Burberry Prorsum. While it is not as bold as the pink number, it is still undeniably stunning. It fits her like a glove and I love the brown belts casually wrapped around her waist--even though the Met Ball is one of the most formal and prestigious events of the year! So cool. Adore Rosie's individuality.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Valentino [left] and a sleek white sheath [right].

Valentino is synonymous with classic, elegant style. Rosie looks so sophisticated in this floor-sweeping nude gown. The subtle embellishments along the torso are the special details that make Valentino so loved among the fashion world. Rosie decided to put her hair up to highlight her strong shoulders and dangling earrings. I adore how she added a bit of edge to a very elegant look with funky shoes.

Rosie looks so sleek and modern in this monochromatic dress. The simple cut is stunning--but I adore the unexpected element that is added with the sleek cut outs at Rosie's waist. So stunning. Rosie adds a pop of texture and print with her medium sized animal print clutch at her side. Probably my favorite look.
