Drew Barrymore's Red Hair

Today I'm a little hair obsessed. Drew Barrymore recently revealed her new bold red hair and I immediately fell in love! Now I'm a huge Drew Barrymore fan--Music & Lyrics, The Wedding Singer, &
E.T. What's not to love about Drew? But this color just makes her skin shine so beautifully. She was beautiful as a blonde or a brunette...but I just adore this color!

It makes her green eyes just pop even more! The loose waves, that look completely effortless, are so simple and chic. I don't know if Drew dyed her eyebrows to match her new hair but they look a bit more copper-y in this picture. It takes a brave woman to make such a drastic change and I admire Drew's gumption. I really, do. I have been longing to make a big change to my hair--either chop it all off or dye it. I haven't decided yet but this summer I think there will be a huge change to my long, black hair. I'll keep you posted.

8 Ways to Wear Light Denim

Everyone knows that dark-wash is extra slimming. That is why it is so popular among women. We don't want to look bigger than we are and that is why we have been taught that dark denim is our friend. Lately, there have been many fashionistas finally deciding to buck that rule and start wearing light-wash denim freely.

Denim is such a work-man's fabric that an easy way to dress it up is shiny and fun sequin. It is the juxtaposition of necessity and want. A truly dark denim would've looked too harsh with the light gold color. Jessica is proving that jean jackets are not a project of the 90's. She adds a modern twist with her modern mini and black clutch.

Rashida adds a jean jacket to keep her look casual and it is styled perfectly with her detailed pumps and tailored capri pants. She tossed her hair up in a bun, suggesting an air of messiness. Drew looks like a breath of fresh tropical air in this billowing white skirt. She looks like she would be more at home on a beach than in the concrete jungle of New York. The dark chocolate  belt is a beautiful contrast to the light colors of her top and skirt.

Light wash denim looks best in a slightly loose fitting pant. It is meant to look slouchy and un-put together. Whitney dresses it up a bit with structural heels and fitted blazer. Blake takes a casual denim shirt and keeps it casual with the messy knotted belt and shirt peeking from the bottom of her skirt but her sleek booties and sparkly skirt add class. This outfit surprisingly fits in both categories.

I just got the Glee Christmas Album and I'm so excited! :) My favorite song has got to be God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Acapella [spelling?] music is my favorite. Thank you guys for reading!

Drew Barrymore + Grey YSL Pumps

Since she's been promoting her new movie--Going the Distance--Drew Barrymore has been on a whirlwind of promotional appearances and red carpets. That movie looks so good but I've heard that its super raunchy. But I think I'm going to still check it out.

Get Drew's style. It's super easy. :)

I adore Drew's military green dress. It doesn't scream military but its subtle and sweet. Her belt adds definition to her waist, highlighting the smallest part of her body. :) Her nude shoes give the illusion that her legs are longer than they actually are and this reminds me that I actually need a pair.

Her berry lip is perfect for fall. Isn't that the best part of fall/winter? The warm knits, hoodies, and dark colors? Don't get me wrong. I love shorts, bright colors, and tanks but I love fall in a different way. What season is your favorite?

Doesn't Drew just look so cool in this picture? She's so chill with her sunglasses and purple skirt. Adore that purple skirt by the way. I love a neutral outfit with a bright, bold garmet. Don't you?

I can't get out how cute her skirt is. Sigh. :) And her shoes. I've come to learn that I'm a total shoe girl. I see a pair that I love and I can't seem to buy enough. When I went school shopping I bought four pairs. In two days. I have a problem but I'm working on it.

I just noticed that she's wearing military green in each outfit. I didn't do that on purpose, I promise. :) But I do love the military trend. The zippers at the bottom of her jeans are just so chic. The layered button-down shirt over that striped shirt looks so put together.

Layers work that way. If done well, they take an outfit to the next level. And, again, I think she looks so chill. I hope I look that cool but I have this weird feeling that I don't. :)

I'm so excited for fashion week! Eeek! I feel like a kid outside of a candy store. :)

Onto, non-fashion related news. I just started reading Andre Aggassi's memoir, Open. And I'm only a couple chapters into it but its so good. It's so well written and in-depth. The descriptions are so vivid and I can't wait until I get further into it.

If you're looking for a great read I tentaively recommend this. It might get a little stale as I continue reading--and I reserve the right to change my mind--but so far...its great. <3  it!

Um, don't forget to check out my $75 Target giftcard giveaway and Softlips review! I'll post on Saturday, I promise! And don't forget to become a fan of Viva La Fashion on Facebook. :)
