Flower "Wispy Wisteria" Lip Butter Swatch + Review

For those of you who don't know, actress Drew Barrymore has recently launched a new cosmetics company, Flower, and I am a HUGE fan. I only own a handful of products but I honestly love each and every one of them. It also doesn't hurt that I'm a big Drew Barrymore fan (Hello? The Wedding Singer. Charlie's Angels. He's Just Not That Into You.). She's amazing and extremely beautiful.

The Flower brand is available exclusively at Wal-Mart--but good luck trying to find it. It went to four locations before I found one that actually had these products available. But that means that all of the products in this range are super affordable. This Lip Butter only cost $6.98 and everything else in the range retails for $15. The hardest part was trying to decide which products I wanted to try out first.

The packaging of the Flower products is so luxurious and modern and sleek. They all have the beautiful rose gold detailing which I think is a small detail that makes a huge difference. But I found that the packaging of this product in particular is a little too bulky for my taste--especially at the base. The top also does not securely click into place and sometimes falls off if I'm not careful but this is a minor problem that I hope will be fixed in the future. Otherwise, I give the packaging an A+. I don't think anyone in the drugstore can compete.

But what about the formulation? Well, I'm sure you will be thrilled to hear that the formulation is fantastic. I've been itching to write this review for weeks because I was so excited about this product. It applies like a dream. The pigmentation is excellent. And, it is easily one of the glossiest products on the market. The Flower Lip Butter gives the L'Oreal Colour Caresse Shine Stains a run for their money. It is also super moisturizing on the lips and does an amazing job of camouflaging dry lips. I don't think this will completely replace your favorite lip balm but it might decrease the number of times you have to reach for it during the week.

P.S. As I was editing the photos for this post, I couldn't help but notice that my cat photo bombed my swatches. You can see her if you look to the blurred black and white spot on the left side of the swatch. Readers, say hello to my adorable little kitty, Noelle. And even though she's so blurred that you can't really see her, I chose not to crop her out. She really is one of the sweetest cats I know.

First off, let me state the obvious. This lip butter is SO glossy.  In the picture above I'm not wearing any lip gloss or lip balm. Isn't that insane? Ah! I almost couldn't believe it. A lot of products (the CoverGirl Jumbo Gloss Balm seem to come to mind) claim to be a glossy or a lipstick and lip gloss in one but the Flower Lip Butters blew me away. I cannot wait to get my hands on more colors. Before sitting down to write this review I did a bit research and almost everyone unanimously agrees that these Lip Butters are perfection!

  2. I'm not sure why but this weblog is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I'll check back later and see
    if the problem still exists.
